Ukrainian Boxers Shine at the 2025 National Championship
The 2025 National Boxing Championship for men and women concluded triumphantly in Odessa!
From March 9 to 16, the "Olympiec" sports complex became the heart of Ukrainian boxing. A total of 204 elite athletes — 69 women and 135 men — competed for victory, showcasing strength, skill, and a desire for championship glory.
Among the medal winners were representatives from Odessa:
- Nikita Pohodzhiy (63.5 kg) Coaches — Serzhenyuik Mykhailo and Pobrezhits Yevheniy
- Vladyslav Havryliuk (51 kg) Coaches — Bylyk Yevheniy and Kharlamov Valeriy
- Isa Tagiyev (54 kg) Coaches — Osipchuk Volodymyr and Hordiienko Ihor
- Oksana Bondarenko (54 kg) Coaches — Medoyan Andrii and Osipchuk Volodymyr
The prize fund for the competition was 1,000,000 UAH!
For the first time in the history of Ukrainian boxing, each champion in 12 women’s and 13 men’s weight categories received 40,000 UAH in prize money.
All finalists were awarded medals, diplomas, official calendars, while champions received winner’s trophies. Coaches and mentors who supported the athletes were also recognized.
During the ceremonial part of the finals, the Deputy Head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Kharlov, congratulated the athletes. He emphasized the high level of organization of the championship and the skill of the athletes, wishing them fair and exciting bouts.
The 2025 National Championship once again proved that Ukrainian boxing embodies strength, character, and a desire for victory! Odessa takes pride in its athletes and continues to support them on their journey to new heights!
