Revamping Education for National Safety in Ukraine
The introduction of the updated subject "National Defense" in Odesa's schools and the equipping of classrooms with modern technology are critical areas of educational development.
This subject fosters a conscious attitude among the younger generation towards national protection, helping students understand the importance of safety and preparation for emergencies.
Odesa has established eight modern centers for the first time in the country, equipped with all necessary devices, models, and a training range. Students from several schools will learn in these centers. Classes are conducted by experienced instructors who have undergone appropriate training, some even having faced real combat situations.
High school students will learn how to respond in emergencies and provide basic first aid. Furthermore, the curriculum will include modern warfare tactics.
«In a situation where you are neighboring a terrorist state, this knowledge and skills are crucial for every Ukrainian,» stated Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov.
