New Initiatives Against Violence in Ukraine

Every year from November 25 to December 10, Ukraine holds the campaign "16 Days Against Violence".

The goal of this campaign is to raise awareness among youth about the issues of domestic violence, human trafficking, and women’s rights. A series of thematic events are planned for students in Odesa.

Throughout November and December, young residents of Odesa will participate in the celebration of the International White Ribbon Day, an amateur video competition on combating violence, and the flash mob "A Person Begins with Kindness" on Facebook.

Schools will host: a unified educational hour "Together Against Violence", an exhibition of children’s drawings "#HappуFamilyinOdessa", workshops, round tables, interactive five-minute sessions, and film screenings.

For high school parliament members, an interactive card game "Let’s Create a Safety Circle!" and the game "Youth and Police Against Violence Together" will be organized.

During the "16 Days Against Violence" campaign, the results of the city competition "How I Understand Gender" will be summarized.

For educators, a psychological film club meeting will discuss relevant films, training on the game method "Safety Circle", and practical seminars on interaction mechanisms with other organizations regarding domestic violence prevention, gender-based violence, and bullying.

Psychological service specialists will discuss the prevention of domestic violence and bullying in schools during training sessions and workshops.

With the participation of representatives from state and public organizations, informational sessions for parents and consultations "Family - A Space Without Violence" will be held.
