Veteran Sports: New Opportunities

Adaptive sports serve as a vital means for veterans to reintegrate into civilian life, enhancing their physical health and social skills.
In the Peresyp district of Odesa, the first pickleball training session was held for veterans and their spouses. Local representatives from the Veterans Affairs Department also participated in the event.
Pickleball combines elements of tennis and badminton, making it highly inclusive for individuals of all fitness levels.
The training was led by veteran Mykhailo Zimin, who proposed the integration of pickleball into rehabilitation activities.
“We continue to support initiatives aimed at developing veteran policies in close cooperation with the community and veterans themselves,” stated Volodymyr Yermakov, the director of the Veterans Affairs Department.
