Mini Basketball Festival in Odesa
On January 5, the gym of the Odesa Specialized Children and Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve named after Boris Litvak hosted the annual mini basketball festival as part of the NOC of Ukraine's initiative “Do like Olympians.”
This sporting event has become a cherished tradition and took place for the fourth time this year.
The stars of the festival, along with the young players, were the leading teams from the Odesa region: the men's team “BIPA-Odesa” (head coach - Oleksandr Riabchuk, captain - Dmytro Solovey) and the women’s team “Interchem-SDYUSSHOR named after B. Litvak” (head coach - Iryna Shchipakina, captain - Svitlana Baturina).
About two hundred basketball players aged 7 and above took part in the event, representing various sports schools and clubs from Odesa.
Children enjoyed quizzes and workshops featuring well-known players. At the end of the event, all participants received gifts - New Year treats from the Odesa city and regional basketball federations, and Olympic items from the NOC of Ukraine’s Odesa branch. The SDYUSSHOR named after B. Litvak received a set of basketballs.
The event was organized by the Odesa City Basketball Federation, the NOC of Ukraine’s Odesa branch, the Odesa Regional Basketball Federation, and the SDYUSSHOR named after Boris Litvak.
