2025 World Youth Wrestling Championship: Ukrainian Athletes Shine
From October 20 to 27, 2025, the World Youth Wrestling Championship for athletes under 23 years took place in Novi Sad, Serbia.
Representing Ukraine, Ruslan Abdiyev from Odesa had an impressive performance in the 82 kg weight category, securing a silver medal and showcasing exceptional technique, endurance, and sportsmanship.
Ruslan is a member of the 9th Sports Club of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. His preparation for the competition was led by coaches Viktor Klintzov and Yuriy Prokofiev.
As a result of the Greco-Roman wrestling tournament, the Ukrainian team finished second overall among 44 countries, winning two gold and two silver medals.
