Reviving Boxing: Tournament in Memory of Semen Trestin
From October 20 to 25, Odesa hosted the All-Ukrainian boxing tournament for youth and women, dedicated to the memory of the esteemed master of sports Semen Trestin.
More than a hundred young athletes from across Ukraine participated in the event, which was revitalized after a six-year hiatus.
Arthur Prodan, a student of the Comprehensive Children's and Youth Sports School No. 8, competed in the 70 kg weight class, winning all three of his matches and securing first place. This achievement allows him to receive the honorary title of "Master of Sports of Ukraine."
Ivan Karpov, also from Sports School No. 8, earned a bronze medal in the 60 kg category and met the requirements for the candidate for master of sports in Ukraine.
The athletes were trained by experienced coaches Volodymyr Osipchuk, Dmytro Boboshko, and Ihor Hordiienko.
