Memorial Sambo Tournament for Robert Babayanets in Odesa
From October 10 to 12, 2025, the All-Ukrainian Sambo Tournament in memory of the prominent coach Robert Babayanets was held in Odesa.
Around 100 athletes from various regions of Ukraine participated, including Odesa, Kyiv, Odesa, Zhytomyr, and Mykolaiv regions.
The tournament featured individual and team competitions (“Wall to Wall”) for boys born in 2011–2013 and 2014–2016.
In the overall team standings, Odesa took first place, Kyiv came in second, and Zhytomyr region secured third.
Team matches “Wall to Wall” were also held:
- 1st place — team “Tatami” (Odesa);
- 2nd place — team “Fanat” (Chornomorsk);
- 3rd place — team “Tigers” (Odesa);
- 4th place — team “Gorillas” (Kyiv).
This tournament in memory of the outstanding coach has been held annually since 2011.
