New Season of Ukrainian Hockey 2025/2026
Recently, the Ukrainian Ice Hockey Championship 2025/2026 has kicked off. This season, five teams are participating in the national competition, including two from Kyiv. The list of teams is as follows:
- HC «Kremenchuk» (Kremenchuk, Poltava region)
- HC «Sokil» (Kyiv)
- HC «Kryzhynka-Capitals» (Kyiv)
- HC «Storm» (Odesa)
- HC «Odeshchyna» (Odesa)
Compared to the previous season, there are some changes. Unfortunately, this time the Kherson team «Dnipro» is not participating, while a new team has appeared — HC «Odeshchyna». An interesting situation has arisen with the vice-champion from Kyiv — the club «Kyiv Capitals». The club, with the permission of the UHF, has registered its main team in the Baltic Hockey League (an international hockey league uniting clubs from Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, and now Ukraine). The «Kryzhynka-Capitals» farm club remains in the Ukrainian Championship. Essentially, this is a team of young hockey players and those who do not make it to the main squad.
Thus, Kyiv’s «Sokil» played their first match against Odesa’s «Storm» and achieved a comeback victory, having been down by two goals during the match.

«KREMENCHUK» — «KRYZHYNKA-CAPITALS» — 6:1 (4:0; 0:1; 2:0)
«Kryzhynka-Capitals» will play their next match on Wednesday, October fifteenth, against «Storm». Meanwhile, «Sokil» will face off against «Odeshchyna» the following day.
