Uzhgorod Hosts National Sambo Wrestling Championship
From August 28 to September 1, Uzhgorod hosted the National Sambo Wrestling Championship at the «Yunost» sports complex, featuring juniors, young boys and girls, and cadets.
Approximately 500 participants from 21 different regions of Ukraine competed in the event.
In the team rankings among cadets, the Odesa region emerged victorious for boys, while the girls' title went to Kyiv.
The athletes from the Odesa Regional Comprehensive Children and Youth Sports School No. 4 performed exceptionally well as part of the Odesa team.
In the cadet competitions, Kyrylo Vasylinych won a silver medal in the 79 kg category, and Dmytro Budish took home bronze in the 88 kg category.
Among older juniors, Artur Amiryan celebrated victory in the 88 kg category, while silver medals were awarded to Yegor Dubynenko (79 kg) and Ivan Maksyuta (88 kg), with bronze going to Kyrylo Vasylinych (79 kg).
In the junior competition, Oleg Pryima secured a bronze medal in the 64 kg category.
The athletes were trained by experienced coaches Oleg SpiVak, Fedor Fomenko, and Oleksandr Skypka.
