Young Athletes from Odesa Shine at International Games
Recently, young athletes from Odesa returned from the 57th International Children's Games held in the partner city of Tallinn (Estonia).
This year, about 900 participants from 70 cities around the world took part, with Odesa joining for the first time.
The competition featured 7 sports: 3x3 basketball, beach volleyball, judo, swimming, athletics, fencing, and football.
The athletes from Odesa competed in swimming and 3x3 basketball, achieving impressive results.
The first gold medal for the Odesa team was won by Anastasia Marina, who excelled in the 50-meter butterfly event.
Ivan Ryaduev secured the first place in the 100m freestyle with a new personal best of 51.86, setting a new Ukrainian record.
In themixed relay (combined style), the Odesa team finished 5th out of 28 teams.
In the3x3 basketball events, both teams (boys and girls) performed well in the group stages, advancing to the playoffs.
A touching tradition of exchanging souvenirs began at the first International Children's Games in 1968, fostering pride as athletes from 73 cities in 28 countries showcased their flags.
The International Children's Games embody not just sports, but friendship, unity, respect, and new good acquaintances.
Odesa expresses deep gratitude to its Estonian partner Tallinn for the opportunity for sports exchange for young athletes.
