Innovative Learning Tools for High School Education
The updated list of necessary educational tools and equipment for teaching the revamped subject "Ukraine Defense" to high school students has been approved in Ukraine.
This directive was adopted by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
In addition to the usual boards, markers, chairs, and tables, the list includes:
- FPV drone control simulators with computers;
- interactive laser shooting simulators;
- radio stations for learning communication basics;
- training course elements;
- mannequins for teaching resuscitation and first aid;
- tourniquets and bandages;
- tactical medicine kits;
- helmets and bulletproof vests.
"The updated equipment will enable students to learn life-saving first aid skills, prepare them for using modern technologies in the security field, develop critical thinking and resilience against misinformation, as well as build practical skills for emergency situations," the ministry stated.
It is worth noting that in 2024, the Ministry of Education and Science approved a revised curriculum for the subject "Ukraine Defense," which will now be taught in specialized training centers that serve multiple schools.
According to Oksen Lisovyi, the educational program has removed "everything that was included through a Soviet approach," and boys and girls are now taught together instead of separately as it was done previously.
The ministry indicates that the new teaching approach considers modern challenges and needs in the field of national security and aims to foster patriotic consciousness and develop practical skills.
