International Chess Festival in Iasi
From June 30 to July 6, students of Odessa Lyceum No. 9 participated in an international chess festival held in Iasi (Romania).
A total of 84 teams from various corners of the world competed in the tournament.
The Odessa team achieved a commendable result, finishing in 10th place out of 37 teams in the under-12 category. Katerina Stanchak secured 2nd place among girls, winning 7 out of 8 matches.
The chess team gained invaluable experience and wonderful impressions from their trip.
The young chess players were trained for the competition by coach Olena Barsova.
