Diana Yastremska Advances at Roland Garros
Odessa's tennis star, Diana Yastremska, has made it past the second round at the «Roland Garros» tournament for the second time in her career, currently underway in Paris.
Diana started her campaign against Australian player Destanee Aiava, who received a wild card. The first set was fiercely contested, but Diana ultimately triumphed with a score of 7:5, 6:1.
Her best performance at the French Open remains reaching the third round, which she accomplished last year.
In the 1/32 finals, the Odessa player defeated the world number 12, Russian Diana Schneider, with a score of 7:5, 7:5. Yastremska managed to secure victory in both sets. The match lasted 1 hour and 51 minutes, marking their second encounter, where Diana avenged her previous loss.
In the next round, Odessa's player will face another Russian, Lyudmila Samsonova.
