Adaptive Sports for Veterans in Odessa: New Horizons
In Odessa, adaptive sports programs for veterans are being actively implemented. In 2024, in collaboration with the "Odessa-Basket" club, around 200 training sessions were held for veterans with disabilities.
Veterans particularly engaged in billiards training (97 sessions) and wheelchair basketball (35 sessions).
Additionally, activities included golf, table tennis, boxing, diving, and kayaking. There has also been an initiative to involve veterans in amputee football.
Odessa veterans participated in the world billiards championship for athletes with disabilities in Los Angeles, as well as national competitions in adaptive billiards and wheelchair basketball.
Odessa takes pride in the resilience and strength of its defenders.
