Final Tour of the "Revival" Exhibition
On November 24, 2024, at 2:00 PM, the final tour of the exhibition «Revival» will take place at the Odessa Municipal Museum of Private Collections named after O.V. Bleschunov.
This memorial exhibition «Revival» honors the memory of the talented Odessa painter and graphic artist Alexander Yosipovich Shkuropat (1964—2008).
The tour will be conducted by Eduard Ratushnyak — a well-known Odessa journalist and admirer of Alexander Shkuropat's work.
The «Revival» exhibition at the Bleschunov House features paintings from series like: «Odessa and its surroundings», «City of Fish», «My Ukraine», «The Abduction of Europe». There are also «home» works that the artist left for himself and his family as reminders of the beginning of his artistic journey. These rarities will be showcased for the first time.
«Shkuropat was among the chosen ones who decisively turned away from socialist realism in painting, adding a fresh breath to decorative folklore, predicting in Odessa (long before the current awakening) an informal interest in Ukrainian culture and history, and outlining a certain direction in national art for generations of artists to come», — shares Eduard Ratushnyak.
