Financial Literacy Among Ukrainian Teenagers: New Research Findings
The study indicates that Ukrainian teenagers demonstrate a foundational level of financial literacy.
This information was reported by the National Bank of Ukraine.
According to the results, the average percentage of correct answers on case studies among teenagers is 46.6%,
which corresponds to 3 points on a 12-point grading scale.
The highest results were recorded among students from Dnipropetrovsk (57.4%), Ivano-Frankivsk (53.7%) regions, and Kyiv (50.4%).
The lowest results were noted in Kirovohrad (37.4%), Mykolaiv (39.7%), and Chernivtsi (41.4%) regions.
Girls achieved better results (47.4%) compared to boys (45.6%). The performance of urban and rural students was 48% and 40% respectively.
Notably, no teenager provided 100% correct answers on all case questions presented in the survey.
The research was conducted by specialists from the Ukrainian Institute of Social Research named after O. Yaremenko in April 2024. The sample of participants was formed by employees of the State Scientific Institution "Institute for Educational Analytics".
During the study, specialists tested over 3,000 students aged 14 to 17 from 19 regions of Ukraine and Kyiv.
