Celebrating Bulgarian Culture in Odesa

The highlight of the Bulgarian Culture Week in Odesa was a festive concert. November 1st — National Revival Day — is a celebration that unites the spirituality of all Bulgarians, no matter where they reside.

The Consul General of the Republic of Bulgaria addressed the audience and presented Certificates of Appreciation for contributions to the development of Bulgarian culture.

«Throughout the festival days, we had the chance to experience the unique heritage of the Bulgarian people — music, literature, and folk art. These events vividly showcase the closeness of our cultural ties, how intertwined our histories and traditions are. Bulgaria has made a significant contribution to the development of Odesa, and today the Bulgarian community remains an integral part of our society», — emphasized acting Odesa mayor Ihor Koval.

The concert featured the folk singer and composer from the Macedonian folklore region, Iliya Lukov — a legend of Bulgarian folk music known for numerous initiatives supporting Bulgarian identity both in Bulgaria and abroad.

Folk ensembles from the Odesa region also took the stage, sharing warmth, sincerity, and the richness of Ukrainian-Bulgarian cultural connections with the audience.
