Endless Gratitude: Lives Saved by Donors
Endless Gratitude: Lives Saved by Donors. Odessa is the first region where people whose lives are extended by donations gathered: recipients, their families, and medical professionals.
This gathering was not for formal speeches. It was to look each other in the eye. To embrace. To share heartfelt conversations. To pause in reflection. To express gratitude.
Four heroes. Four successful transplants:
- 17-year-old Olena — liver transplant.
- 7-year-old Tikhon — heart transplant.
- 6-year-old Dmytryk and 45-year-old Alla — kidney transplants.
On this day, we remembered not only those who survived. We bowed our heads low in honor of those who made these stories possible — the donors.
They were adults from Odessa and a child. Her parents, shattered by grief, managed to save other lives in the darkest moment of their existence. This choice stands unmatched in strength, love, and sacrifice. We are grateful. We remember. You are heroes.
