Honoring Medical Professionals in Odesa
On June 27, 2025, a ceremonial cultural and spiritual charity event titled «Under the Protection of Saint Panteleimon» took place at the Odesa City Hall, where medical workers from Odesa and the region were awarded the Saint Panteleimon Order.
The event, led by Vasyl Knyazevych, head of the Honorary Council of the Saint Panteleimon Order, included representatives from major Christian communities and health institutions. This award, established in 2009, is granted for outstanding service to the Ukrainian people and bravery in the fight for health and independence.
The winners of the regional selection for 2025 include:
- In the «Lifeline Support» category: Babenko Vsevolod Vasylovych, Colonel of the Medical Service.
- In the «Medical Front Hero» category: Solovey Tetiana Panteleivna, operating nurse.
- In the «Best Doctor» category: Chaikovska Svitlana Mykhailivna, oncologist.
- In the «Heart of Medicine» category: Honchar Svitlana Volodymyrivna, head nurse.
- In the «Innovator of the Year» category: Umanyets Mykola Mykolayovych, Doctor of Medical Sciences.
- In the «Health Fortress» category: Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases.
- In the «Model of Service to Society» category: Father Theodor.
The final selection of laureates will take place at the national level with the participation of an international expert commission.
Awards were also given to medical professionals for their exceptional service and civic virtues during the war.
