Restoration of Historic Doors in Odesa

In Odesa, the project titled 'Restoration of Historic Doors' is underway, focusing on the renovation of doors at the corner of Ukrainian Heroes Avenue and Jewish Street.

This information was shared by the project representatives.

The building located at Jewish Street 48 was constructed in 1893 based on the design of architect A. D. Todorov and later reconstructed in 1900–1901 by architects Y. M. Dmytrenko and V. A. Koropovskyi for the needs of the Protection Church. It housed the quarters of the church's minister and a church parochial school.

The doors of this building were in a deplorable condition.

Thus, the project team recreated missing wooden decorative elements, restored the wrought iron grilles, and reproduced the lost entry plank. The symmetry and proportions of the doors were restored, along with original bolts and handles. Brass plates were installed to protect the lower part of the doors from moisture and mechanical damage.
