Restoration of Power Supply in Kherson After Attacks

Energy workers from Odessa successfully restored electrical equipment operation in Kherson, which had suffered from Russian shelling in February. Their efforts resulted in power returning to over 2,000 households in the city.

This information was reported on the official page of DTEK Odessa Electric Networks.

A team of 26 specialists worked on restoring the damaged infrastructure. They arrived in Kherson in mid-March.

“The frontline was only 3-10 kilometers from our working area. Our energy workers had to operate in bulletproof vests and helmets due to safety concerns, as the city continued to be shelled from the opposite bank of the Dnipro,” - the report stated.

The specialists managed to restore three high-voltage lines and a substation, ensuring electricity supply to critical facilities, including the water utility.

However, on April 4, 2025, the Kherson heat and power plant was struck by FPV drones, resulting in further damage.

On April 1, 2025, another energy facility was damaged due to an attack, leaving 45,000 consumers without electricity.

On March 27, Russian forces targeted energy infrastructure in Kherson and Poltava, violating previously agreed ceasefire terms. This indicates serious breaches by the Kremlin.

President Zelensky stated that Ukraine would respond to these provocations and called on the international community to take decisive action.
