Boosting Solar Power Efficiency: Guidelines for Consumers
With the arrival of spring, the efficiency of solar power stations in Ukraine has significantly improved. Consequently, citizens are encouraged to use high-power electrical devices during the day.
This information comes from the press service of "Ukrenergo".
"It is crucial to follow recommendations for shifting energy consumption to daytime during sunny days. Please use high-power electrical appliances between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM, when the energy system needs it the most," the statement reads.
Experts explain that during the day, the active operation of solar power stations leads to an excess of power in the energy system, necessitating operational restrictions.
Conversely, during evening peak hours, solar energy is no longer available, and it must be supplemented by other types of generation.
Furthermore, overcoming the excess power during the day through exports is challenging, as neighboring countries have similar or even greater solar capacity than Ukraine.
"Currently, the difference between cloudy and sunny days equals the output of several energy blocks from large thermal power plants," added "Ukrenergo".
On cloudy and cold days, energy experts advise shifting electricity consumption to evening and nighttime hours to avoid generation constraints during peak consumption periods.
Reminder:
On April 17th, morning electricity consumption was 5% lower than the previous day - April 16th.
