Clarification on Electricity Supply in Ukraine from Ukrenergo
Ukrenergo has dismissed rumors about a potential return to electricity outages.
This was reported by the company's press service.
"Recently, some media outlets and Telegram channels have started spreading news with clickbait headlines regarding the possible return of outages. We want to emphasize that this information is false. No restrictions are currently in place", – the statement reads.
However, as the company noted, there is indeed a need for rational electricity consumption, as repair work on energy facilities continues following Russian attacks. At the same time, due to the cold weather across Ukraine, electricity consumption has significantly increased, as more consumers are turning on fireplaces, heaters, and air conditioners for warmth.
Additionally, with the conclusion of the heating season, some generation facilities that cannot operate independently without thermal energy ceased operations last week.
Furthermore, the situation is further complicated by overcast weather in parts of Ukraine, which reduces the efficiency of solar power plants.
Therefore, Ukrenergo urges consumers to reduce the use of high-power electrical appliances and avoid turning on multiple such devices simultaneously between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM.
It is worth noting:
In Ukraine, as a result of significant temperature drops, electricity consumption as of the morning of April 7 was 16% higher than the level of the previous working day - April 4.
On April 8, electricity consumption remained high. As of 9:30 AM, the level of electricity consumption was 2.3% higher than at the same time the previous day — on Monday.
