Protecting Natural Resources: Updates from Tiligul Liman
On April 3, 2025, a joint raid involving an environmental inspector and representatives from the State Border Guard Service took place in the Regional Landscape Park «Tiligul», near the village of Tanivka in Odesa region. This was reported by the South-Western District Environmental Inspection.
During the inspection at Tiligul Liman, 13 abandoned shrimp traps measuring a total of 11 meters were discovered. The illegal fishing equipment was confiscated. Thanks to prompt actions, the lives of aquatic residents were preserved: 3 kg of shrimp, 2 kg of bullhead, and 2 kg of atherina were returned to the water.
"Conservationists urge citizens not to remain indifferent and to report instances of poaching in order to collectively protect the unique nature of Odesa region" - the report states.
