Illegal Construction on Protected Land
A resident of the Odessa region is being prosecuted for unlawfully constructing a gazebo for recreation within the protected area of the Lower Dniester National Park. Police documented the violation, and now the man faces up to two years in prison.
This information was announced by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odessa region on Saturday, April 5.

A 62-year-old man from the Odessa district unlawfully occupied a plot of land by the Dniester River, setting up a fishing area without any permits.
Authorities discovered that he had seized 33.21 m² of land that is part of the Lower Dniester National Park.
"He utilized a portion of the state nature park for private leisure without any approval documents," said investigator Daria Stotska.
The seized land is of state significance and is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
What penalties does the offender face?
The pre-trial investigation has concluded, and the indictment has been sent to court. The man has been charged with illegal occupation of particularly valuable land. According to Part 2 of Article 197-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, he faces up to two years of imprisonment.
It is worth noting that a native of Mykolaiv forged a military ID and attempted to leave the Odessa region for Moldova. There have also been reports of Russians recruiting Ukrainian children for subversive activities.
