Expanding Digital Horizons for Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation
On April 4, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine made a decision to extend the functions of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, particularly in the areas of innovation, robotics, and artificial intelligence.
This information was announced by government representative Taras Melnychuk in the Verkhovna Rada.
According to the new amendments, the Ministry will:
promote the development of the robotics and semiconductor sectors, as well as domestic manufacturing of robotics and unmanned systems;
define priorities for development and provide regulatory frameworks;
offer financial support to enterprises engaged in the development of robotics and innovative technologies;
coordinate research and testing of new technologies;
create infrastructure for testing robotics and unmanned systems;
support the advancement of artificial intelligence in Ukraine.
Additionally, it is noted that the Cabinet of Ministers transferred the regulation of gambling and lotteries from the Gambling Business Commission (KRAIL) to the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
