Crackdown on Poaching: Recent Arrests
Law enforcement officers have caught a poacher who illegally harvested 180 kg of fish, causing the state losses exceeding 600,000 hryvnias. This was reported by the fish protection agency.
During a raid at Tudyrovo Lake in the Yaskiv territorial community, state inspectors of the Odesa fish protection agency, in collaboration with border guards and police, discovered a man who illegally caught 348 bream, 23 crucians, and one carp using two nets from a boat.
"The offender was issued a protocol for serious violations of fishing rules, and materials are being prepared to initiate criminal proceedings. The illegal catch, fishing gear, boat, and engine have been confiscated" - stated the report.
