Traffic Safety at Key Intersections in Odesa during Blackouts
In Odesa, the Patrol Police have identified 25 crucial intersections that significantly impact traffic safety in the city.
During emergency power outages (blackouts), KУ “SMEP” collaborates with the Patrol Police to monitor the functionality of traffic lights.
All key intersections are equipped with large uninterruptible power supplies, allowing traffic lights to operate autonomously for 4 to 8 hours when fully charged.
If needed, KУ “SMEP” replaces batteries, and in emergencies, it works with the Department of Transport to connect generators to maintain traffic light operations.
While batteries are being replaced and generators are connected, the Patrol Police manage traffic at the intersections.
Drivers are urged to stay alert and adhere to traffic regulations.
