Ensuring Safety When Buying Christmas Trees

The law enforcement agencies in Odesa are conducting preventive raids at Christmas tree markets, urging sellers to adhere to trading rules and environmental laws. Citizens are advised to purchase only legal trees.
Officers are focusing on the necessity of having all required permits, special markings, and electronic chips that confirm the legal origin of coniferous trees. During these raids, explanatory talks are held with both entrepreneurs and consumers regarding the responsibilities associated with illegal logging and sales of forest products.
The police emphasize that one of the safest options is to buy a legal Christmas tree. This can be an artificial tree, which will last for many years, or a live one that can be planted after the holidays. If you choose a cut tree, buy it only from verified outlets that have the necessary documentation and tags. The legality of your purchase can be checked on the official state forest portal open.ukrforest.com.
Law enforcement warns that violations of regulations regarding the harvesting, transportation, and sale of Christmas trees can lead to administrative and even criminal liability. Citizens are encouraged to be vigilant, purchase only legal trees, and report any violations to the nearest police department or by calling the emergency line at 102.
Preventive measures will continue throughout the festive season.
