Bridge Approaches Restoration Near Checkpoint
Work is currently being carried out to restore the approaches to the bridge near the checkpoint «Mayaki-Udobne-Palanka». This is reported by the press service of the company «Avtomagistral- South».
The company notes that during the first two years of the war, the M-15 Odesa-Reni route turned into a continuous procession of grain trucks. The export of agricultural products from Ukraine has shifted to the Danube ports. The road surface has held up, but the excessive load has made its effects known. Significant subsidence of the approaches to the bridge near the checkpoint «Mayaki-Udobne-Palanka» has occurred.
«The deformation negatively affects road safety and poses a risk of critical damage to the bridge's structure. Our company has been tasked with restoring the road surface profile and repairing the damaged elements of the bridge structure», – commented Avtomagistral-South.
While traffic is moving on one half of the roadway, the replacement of the bridge's expansion joints is underway, old pavement on the approaches is being milled, layers of crushed stone-sand mixture (CPS) and CPS with cement are being laid, as well as two layers of asphalt concrete.
