Collaboration Between Ukrainian and Romanian Firefighters
Rescuers from the Odesa region visited the city of Tulcea in Romania to participate in a significant seminar as part of the joint Ukrainian-Romanian project 'Development of Cross-Border Cooperation in Firefighting along the Danube – FIPRO' (ROUA00095). This project is implemented by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region in collaboration with the 'Delta' Emergency Situations Inspectorate of Tulcea County under the Interreg NEXT 'Romania-Ukraine 2021-2027' program.
During the meeting, rescuers discussed more effective responses to forest fires and other emergencies in ecosystems. Specialists exchanged experiences, analyzed legislative frameworks, and worked on creating a joint best practices manual.
Furthermore, the head of the Odesa firefighters, Denys Platonov, familiarized himself with the technical resources of the Romanian colleagues from the 'Delta' Inspectorate.
Such meetings help rescuers share knowledge and enhance safety on both sides of the Danube.
