New Measures to Enhance Ecology Near the Khadjibey Liman
New traffic signs reading «No Stopping» will soon be installed along the bypass road near Khadjibey Liman.
This decision was made to combat the formation of illegal landfills in the water protection zone, as reported by the eco-inspection.
State inspectors have repeatedly recorded instances of littering along the bypass road next to Khadjibey Liman. Due to the frequent temporary stops made by drivers of both heavy and light vehicles, the area has gradually turned into a landfill.
The inspection has previously appealed to the Odesa City Council to ensure the cleanliness of this area and prevent further pollution of the water protection zone.
As a temporary measure, the Peresyp District Administration proposed to install signs 3.34 «No Stopping» in the problematic area. The Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service of Odesa Region has already issued the necessary orders, and the new signs will appear shortly.
Nevertheless, ecologists emphasize that as long as the ecological awareness of some citizens remains low, such administrative measures will be the only effective way to prevent the formation of new landfills near the liman.
