Unusual Animal Rescues in Odesa
Yesterday in Odesa, emergency workers responded to a pair of unusual calls. During the day, they rescued a dog that had fallen into a pit, and later helped a cat stuck in a tree. Both animals were unharmed. This was reported by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service in Odesa on Saturday, October 18.
The first incident occurred during the day on the 19th kilometer of the Starokyivska road. A dog fell into a deep pit and couldn’t climb out by itself. Rescuers used a rope and ladder to carefully bring the animal back to the surface. Fortunately, the dog was not injured and quickly recovered from the stress.
The second call came in the evening from Leontovicha Street. Local residents reported that a cat had been sitting high in a tree for several hours, meowing and afraid to climb down. Rescuers reached the animal with a ladder and returned it to its owners.
