Rescue Operations Ongoing in Odesa Following Severe Weather
Nearly a day has passed as rescuers in Odesa and the surrounding areas work to mitigate the effects of severe weather. According to the State Emergency Service, there are 9 confirmed fatalities, including 1 child.
Throughout the night, rescuers assisted in evacuating individuals from flooded areas, retrieving vehicles, pumping water from buildings, and searching for a missing girl, whose body was discovered at 7 AM. A psychologist from the emergency service is present at the scene.
In total, 362 individuals have been rescued and 227 vehicles evacuated.
The operation involves 255 rescuers and 68 units of equipment.
Efforts are ongoing.
