Commemoration of the Babyn Yar Victims
Today in Ukraine, we commemorate the victims of Babyn Yar. This site has become a symbol of unspeakable tragedy, where Nazis executed thousands of innocent individuals — Jews, Ukrainians, and Roma.
The Babyn Yar tragedy is not just a chapter in history; it serves as a reminder of the horrific cost of hatred and intolerance. By remembering those who perished, we affirm our pledge of 'never again' and our collective commitment to ensure that such events do not recur.
Odesa, alongside the entire nation, bows its head in memory of the innocently slain.
On this anniversary, a flower-laying ceremony was held at the Prokhorivskyi Square in Odesa to honor the victims of the Holocaust and the prisoners of the ghetto.
May their memory be eternal for all who lost their lives at Babyn Yar.
