Collaboration Between Odesa and Moldovan Communities
The Mayor of Odesa, Hennadii Trukhanov, met with leaders from the Moldovan communities of Leova, Tudora, and Stefan-Voda — Oleksandr Buzhorian, Veronika Mokan, and Vladislav Kocu, respectively.
This meeting was part of an inter-municipal cooperation program and a Memorandum signed during a round table dedicated to enhancing partnerships between Ukraine and Moldova.
Participants discussed the specifics of community development and what unites them, namely the 20,000-strong Moldovan community living in Odesa Oblast.
Ms. Mokan emphasized that the border town of Tudora has welcomed twice as many Ukrainian refugees as its population since the onset of the full-scale war, and continues to provide support.
Mayor Vladislav Kocu of Stefan-Voda personally organized humanitarian aid to be delivered to Ukraine, maintaining constant contact with Ukrainian communities.
The parties also addressed common challenges on the path to European integration, including the administrative-territorial reform in Moldova discussed by Mayor Oleksandr Buzhorian of Leova.
Additionally, issues of energy resilience, the development of transport corridors, infrastructure modernization, and security were raised. The focus was on finding solutions based on trust, solidarity, and shared European values.
