Commemoration of Holodomor Victims in Ukraine
On November 23, a commemoration took place in Odesa to honor the victims of the Holodomor of 1932-1933, marking an important event for the Ukrainian nation.
This tragic chapter in our history resulted in unimaginable suffering and loss. During the Soviet era, discussing this event was forbidden, and the memory of the victims was passed down through generations orally.
Today, we speak openly about this tragedy so that the world is aware of the millions of innocent lives lost due to the genocide perpetrated by the Soviet regime. This year, we again honor the victims of Stalin’s genocide against the backdrop of a full-scale war characterized by genocidal actions by Russia against Ukrainians.
Every year, on the fourth Saturday of November, Ukrainians commemorate the victims of the Holodomor of 1932-1933, as well as the artificial famines of 1921-1923 and 1946-1947.
