Wildfires in Odesa Region: Impact and Safety Measures
In the past week, rescue teams in the Odesa region responded to over 220 calls for extinguishing wildfires in dry vegetation. The total damages reached nearly 31 billion hryvnias.
According to the press service of the State Emergency Service of Odesa, the overall area affected by fire was 125 hectares.
“These are not just numbers from the State Ecological Inspection of the Southwestern District. They represent destroyed ecosystems, dead animals, and birds. In the worst cases, such fires destroy homes and take human lives,” the SES reported, again urging people not to burn grass and waste, and to follow safety rules in open areas.
