Arrest of Suspect in Deputy's Murder Case

On the night of September 1, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced the arrest of an individual suspected of murdering deputy and former Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy.

Zelensky shared this information via social media.

"The Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klymenko and the Head of the Security Service Vasyl Maliuk just reported the arrest of the suspect in Parubiy's murder," Zelensky stated.

According to him, necessary investigative actions are ongoing.

"I instructed to make available all existing information to the public. Thank you to law enforcement for their prompt and coordinated efforts. All details of this horrific murder must be clarified," Zelensky added.

Updated: Later, Zelensky reported having a conversation with Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.

"He (Kravchenko) informed about further procedural steps regarding the suspect in Andriy Parubiy's murder. There are initial testimonies from the suspect. Urgent investigative actions are currently being conducted to establish all circumstances of this murder," Zelensky noted.

Prior to this: Zelensky had assured that the investigation into the murder of deputy Andriy Parubiy is being conducted "virtually around the clock."
