Extension of Social Assistance for IDPs

In August, the deadline for housing assistance payments for certain categories of IDPs ended, but the government has decided to extend these payments for another six months, until February 2026.

This information was announced by the Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity.

The payments apply to individuals with disabilities of groups I – III, families with children under 18 years old (for students, this extends to 23 years), as well as families consisting solely of non-working individuals.

Additionally, several changes have been introduced in the procedure for assigning assistance, specifically:

having savings in a bank account exceeding 100,000 UAH will no longer impede the provision of assistance to orphans and children deprived of parental care who are temporarily placed with relatives or foster families;

if a non-working capable individual registers as unemployed at an employment center after the cessation of their assistance payments, they will be able to resume receiving assistance (starting from the month they began working).

The extension of payments will occur automatically, with no need for additional applications.

The ministry also noted that the amount of assistance is:

  • 2,000 UAH - for one adult;
  • 3,000 UAH - for one child or an IDP with a disability.

Assistance is paid monthly for each family member of IDPs who belong to vulnerable groups or have low incomes.
