New Regulations for Male Travelers Abroad
Men aged 18 to 22 will need a military registration document in either paper or electronic form to travel abroad.
This was confirmed by the spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service, Colonel Andrii Demchenko.
Recently, the government approved changes to the rules for crossing the state border for Ukrainian citizens, prepared by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Demchenko emphasized that the document has not yet been published, and final details about the introduced changes will be available after the decree appears on the official government portal.
Currently, it is reported that from the moment these changes take effect, Ukrainian men aged 18 to 22 will be allowed to cross the state border during martial law.
The spokesperson highlighted that this rule does not apply to individuals specified in points 2-14 of those rules, such as officials in government bodies and local self-government. This category can still travel abroad only for official business trips.
He stated: "Regarding the ability of men aged 18 to 22 to cross the border, we reiterate that it is necessary to have both a passport and a military registration document, which must be presented upon request by a border guard at border crossing points."
The entry of this category of citizens will be facilitated by border guards after the publication of these changes and their entry into force.
