Reflections of Hope: New Installation in Odessa

On the eve of Independence Day, a new installation titled "Mirror of Independence" was unveiled at the square near the Opera House in Odessa. Anyone passing by could look into the mirror and ponder their own contribution to the collective victory. The organizers emphasize that this initiative serves as a reminder that the fate of our nation relies on the efforts of each individual.

The installation quickly gathered a crowd of locals and visitors who paused to gaze at their reflections, take photos, and share their thoughts. Political scientist Mikhail Shabanov, who participated in the event, noted that this action resonates with the meaning of national holidays and symbols.

"Our flag is a symbol of resilience. Looking into the mirror today, you see not just fatigue and sadness, but also hope. We have become older, stronger, and each of us holds a belief in the bright future of a united Ukraine", he remarked.

Primarily, the organizers aimed for the mirror to become a point of internal dialogue for everyone, from veterans to schoolchildren. They believe that contributions to a shared victory can take many forms. Alexey Zemyan, head of the Odessa branch of the public organization "Defense of the State," explained that this idea formed the basis of the event.

"Everyone should make their contribution. If you can fight — fight, if you can donate — donate, if you can create jobs and pay taxes — do it. Our task is to remind people that their actions, no matter how small, are important for the country", he emphasized.

According to Zemyan, the installation is part of a nationwide campaign taking place in various regional centers. This event in Odessa is the first of its kind.

"I hope that next year we will gather again by this mirror — already in a free country, celebrating our victory", he added.
