New 20-Hryvnia Banknote: A Patriotic Symbol
Starting August 21, the National Bank of Ukraine will introduce modified 20-hryvnia banknotes into circulation. The reverse side will feature the patriotic slogan "Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes!"
This was reported by the NBU press service.
All other design and security elements will remain consistent with the 20-hryvnia banknotes from the 2018 series, which can be viewed on the official website of the National Bank.
The NBU will utilize these modified banknotes to support banks and CIT companies for further issuance to clients and to replace worn, damaged, and withdrawn cash.
Citizens do not need to exchange the previous series of 20-hryvnia banknotes for the modified ones, according to the National Bank's announcement.
"As a legal means of payment, they will circulate alongside other banknotes of the same denomination from previous years and must be accepted at face value by all individuals and legal entities without any restrictions throughout Ukraine for all types of payments and account credits," the announcement states.
