Wildfire in Odesa Region: Large Fire on Open Land
Yesterday, August 4, a large wildfire broke out in the vicinity of the village of Kovalivka in the Odesa region, affecting bushes and dry vegetation. Firefighters responded under a heightened alert due to strong winds that rapidly spread the flames.
This information was provided by the press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region.
The firefighters successfully extinguished the fire, which covered an area of 16 hectares. The cause of the fire and the extent of damages are still being investigated.
A total of 7 units of equipment and 33 firefighters from the State Emergency Service were involved, along with 1 unit of equipment and 3 personnel from the Ukrainian Firefighters Association, and 1 unit of equipment and 4 servicemen from the National Guard of Ukraine. Additionally, 1 unit of equipment and 3 local residents assisted in the firefighting efforts.
