Odessa Archaeological Museum Celebrates 200 Years with New Stamp
The Odessa Archaeological Museum, in collaboration with “Ukrposhta,” has unveiled a new stamp to commemorate its 200th anniversary.
This was announced on the museum's website.
The stamp showcases the most renowned artifacts from the museum's collection.
“These treasures are currently stored in the shadows of the museum's reserves, waiting for brighter days. Meanwhile, you can acquire them in a size of 29.58x33 mm,” the announcement states.
It’s worth noting that the Odessa Archaeological Museum of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is the oldest archaeological museum in the country, celebrating its 200th anniversary this year, and it houses the largest collection of Egyptian antiquities in Ukraine. This collection includes sarcophagi, mummified remains, steles, ushabti, scarabs, amulets, and fragments of papyrus, formed during the 19th to early 20th century.
