Sea Incidents: Rescues and Ongoing Search for Missing Teen
In Odessa, six individuals were swept out to sea but were successfully rescued by lifeguards. Meanwhile, in Chornomorsk, search efforts continue for a 16-year-old boy who went missing while swimming.
It is worth noting that on July 28, lifeguards in Chornomorsk rescued 10 children who were swimming during a storm. Another teenager has gone missing, and search operations yesterday were hindered by heavy waves.
According to the State Emergency Service in the Odessa region, rescuers have already surveyed 16,500 m² of the seabed at the beach in Chornomorsk, including 6,000 m² using a drone, as well as 8 km of coastline.
Two similar incidents occurred in Odessa:
- At the beach “Golden Coast,” three teenagers on a float were carried out to sea but were rescued.
- At the beach “Vidrada,” three men were also swept out to sea, and they were successfully saved as well.
