Memorial Day for Ukraine's Fallen Defenders
July 28 marks the first official observance in Ukraine of Memorial Day for the defenders and civilians who endured the horrors of captivity and did not live to see their liberation. These individuals, tortured and executed, left us not only with sorrow but also with the strength to continue fighting.
This day has been established by a resolution of the Verkhovna Rada. It serves as a reminder that freedom comes at a high cost.
We remember not just the military personnel but all citizens who became victims of cruelty yet maintained their dignity even in the darkest moments.
