Fire Erupts in Odessa Apartment Building: Residents Safely Evacuated
Last night in the village of Lymanka, located in the Odessa district, a fire broke out in an apartment on the 13th floor of a 16-story building.
The information was provided by the press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Odessa region.
Rescue workers evacuated 23 residents using ladders and saved three dogs. The fire was extinguished over an area of 50 square meters.
Due to heavy smoke, firefighters operated in breathing and vision protection gear. For quick ventilation of the premises, a smoke removal device was used. Fortunately, there were no fatalities or injuries.
The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are currently being investigated.
Nine units of equipment and 29 firefighters were involved from the emergency service.
