Groundbreaking Achievements of MAGURA Drones Recognized in Ukraine
For the first time ever, five remarkable records of MAGURA drones have been officially documented in the Guinness World Records of Ukraine.
Representatives of the Guinness World Records of Ukraine have officially recognized these achievements, made possible by the efforts of the Ukrainian military intelligence using MAGURA drones.
- The first-ever sinking of military ships using maritime drones;
- The first shoot-down of a military aircraft by a maritime drone;
- The first hit on an aerial target by a maritime drone;
- The highest number of military vessels hit: from 2023 to 2024, Ukraine's military intelligence struck 15 units of the Russian Black Sea Fleet;
- The highest number of sunk ships and boats.
The official registration ceremony took place at the Museum of Military Intelligence of Ukraine, where a new exhibition dedicated to MAGURA drones was opened.
Certificates were presented to Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, and to the soldiers of the “Group 13” unit, who are actively executing maritime operations using drones.
“We have observed the development and military application of MAGURA and can confidently say: these achievements are unparalleled on a global scale. They demonstrate that even under the most challenging conditions, Ukraine can create innovations that change the course of war,” commented Andriy Masyuk, a representative of the Guinness World Records of Ukraine.
General Kyrylo Budanov thanked the Guinness representatives and emphasized the high combat effectiveness of MAGURA.
“Each sunk ship, each downed aircraft or helicopter reduces the enemy's capabilities. These are real steps toward our victory. I want to thank Group 13 for their work. Their dedication and professionalism enable us to achieve such results,” Budanov stated.
The commander of the “Group 13” unit, known by the call sign “Thirteenth”, expressed gratitude to Ukrainian engineers for their ingenuity.
“I want to thank the commanders who supported this initiative, the manufacturers for their innovations, and my team for their dedicated and successful work. We are fighting against a resource-rich state, so any support is especially valuable. Sincerely grateful to everyone — including the Guinness World Records — for this recognition and trust,” emphasized Thirteenth.
Military security expert Mykhailo Honchar also participated in the ceremony.
“MAGURA drones have already set records for combat effectiveness in water and air. I wish the Main Intelligence Directorate for the next record to be underwater, as Russian submarines are already awaiting their encounter with Ukrainian drones,” Honchar said.
Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate, highlighted the strategic importance of these achievements.
“These records are evidence of how Ukraine is changing the military history of the world, proving that innovation and courage are stronger than any enemy numbers. We are proud of everyone involved in the creation and application of MAGURA drones. Your work serves as an example for the whole world on how asymmetric responses can be effective and devastating to the aggressor,” Yusov stated.
